It is our policy to respond expeditiously to clear, legitimate notices of alleged copyright infringement in full compliance with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512, "DMCA") and applicable international copyright standards.
Fair Use & Transformative Visual Criticism
gifzo.lol is an independent educational and cultural publication. Certain short looping video clips, cinemagraphs, and animated snippets displayed on this website are utilized under the doctrine of Fair Use (17 U.S. Code § 107). These snippets are reproduced strictly for transformative purposes, including:
- Critical analysis and cultural commentary on digital communication trends.
- Historical documentation of animation techniques and digital file formats.
- Academic and semiotic analysis of internet memes and nonverbal digital language.
Such uses are non-commercial in their transformative intent, reproduce only minimal brief excerpts, and do not serve as a market substitute for the original copyrighted works.

2. Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent thereof, and you believe that any content hosted on gifzo.lol infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a formal notification pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) containing the following information in writing:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the specific material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (such as the specific URL on gifzo.lol).
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
3. Response & Takedown Procedure
Upon receipt of a valid and complete DMCA takedown notification, gifzo.lol will take prompt action to remove or disable access to the infringing material and notify the content contributor.
4. Counter-Notification Procedure
If you believe that material you submitted was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(2) and (3) to our Designated Agent containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before it was removed.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, gifzo.lol enforces a strict policy of terminating access for users who are deemed to be repeat copyright infringers.
